The Atholville Canadian Tire Cardinals will be facing the Dalhousie Dodgers in the semis. The first game is set for Friday August 13th in Dalhousie. Game time is at 8 pm.
The Cardinals will be handing the ball to Robbie Gillis who posted an impressive 4-0 record this year with a 2.01 ERA. Dalhousie will be going with Andrew Carter who finish the year with a 4-2 record and a 2.45 ERA.

Cardinals stay on top of league standings

The Atholville Canadian Tire Cardinals win 7-5 against the Bathurst Red Sox last night in Atholville. With the win, the Cards are now posting a 6-2 record and sitting in first place of the league standings. Bathurst are now 4-2 and in second place.

The Cardinals got another strong performance from Robbie Gillis. Gillis trew 6.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 8 hits, stiking out 6 Bathurst batters for the Win and improving his team leading ERA to 0.81. Chris Flann got the save, allowing 1 earned run on 1 hit and stiking out 1 batter and posting a 1.46 ERA. Andrew Collins was tagged with the lose. Collins trew 6 innings, allowing 6 earned runs on 11 hits and striking out 4 batters.

The story of the game was at the plate where Denzel Isaac went 2-3 with 2 HR and 5 RBI's. Pascal LeBlanc went 2/3 with a single, HR and 1 RBI. Mikael Savoie went 2/4 with a double and single. Phil Nazair went 2/4 with 2 singles and 1 stolen base.

The Cardinals will be back in action next Thursday for a Home and Home vs the Dalhousie Dodgers. The first game will be in Atholville on Thursday night at 8 pm and both teams will be in action in Dalhousie Friday night at 8 pm.

The Atholville Canadian Tire Cardinals were dropped 11-10 by the Petit-Rocher Braves last night in Atholville. Luc fallu was tagged with the lost. Fallu pitched 2.1 innings, allowing 9 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 batters and striking out 5. Kyle Parker came into releif throwing 4.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while walking 5, hitting 1 batter and striking out 5. Michel Doucet got the Win for Petit-Rocher. Doucet pitched 5 complete innings, allowing 6 runs, 4 earned runs on 7 hits, 1 home run and striking out 5 hitters. Guy Robichaud got the save.

The Atholville Canadian Tire Cardinals felt short last night in Bathurst, loosing 1-0 in the bottom of the 7th inning. Jason LeBlanc hit the game winning double with one out to hand the Cardinals there first lose of the season.
Chris Flann pithced a complete game, allowing 1 earned run, 2 hits, striking out 4 batters and walking 5. Andrew Collins got the win for Bathurst, allowing 5 hits in a complete game effort.
The Cards will be back in action Thursday night in Atholville. Game time is at 8 pm and Petit Rocher Braves will be the visiting team.

Last night in Dalhousie, the Atholville Canadian Tire Cardinals beat the Dalhousie Dodgers 5-3. After the first inning the Dodgers took a 2-1 lead. The pitching for both teams stepped up. Serge Lebel was on the mound for the Dodgers, while Pierre Arseneault was on mound duty for the Cards. In the 4th inning the Dodgers scored a run to take a 3-1 lead. In the top of the 5th the Cards exploded with 4 runs to take a 5-3 lead. At this point the Cards sent out Luc Fallu to shut down the Dodgers offense.

Pierre Arseneault was credited with the win; trowing 4 complete innings, allowing 0 earned runs, 4 hits an sitting down 2 batters. Luc Fallu was credited with the save; trowing 3 complete innings, 0 earned runs, 1 hit and striking out 6 Dodger batters.

The Cards will be on the road Monday May 31st, while they will be visiting The Bathurst Red Sox for an 8 pm start at Vickers Field.

The Cardinals start off the 2010 season with a big win in Atholville last night. The Cardinals beat the Beresford Aces 3-2. Chris Flann was credited with the win, throwing 2 innings and allowing no run, no hits and walking one batter. Robbig Gillis threw 5 strong innings allowing 1 run. Ronnie Lavigne was tagged with the lose for Beresford.

The Cardinals are back in action Friday night in Dalhousie, where the Cardinals will be facing a new young team in Dalhousie.

Cardinals season end with team party!!!

The season has come to an end with the Atholville Kia-Cardinals winning the Intermediate B Championship and being screwed over the Atlantic Championships. But no need to be sour about this, the team held its final team event with a supper and a few cold ones of course. No need to name names, but some people decided to dance on the bar, some danced on the tables, some had a few to many drinks, some had shots, some had wine and some well we don't know where they went.
All in all it was an amazing time.

Thanks to all the guys who showed up and the guys who couldn't make it, we missed u.
I would like to personally thank all the guys for coming out this year and making this a memorable year for everyone who was a part of the Kia-Cardinals family of the 2009 summer.

The guys that will be leaving us will be greatly missed. This will make room for a new batch of Cardinals to shine.
